Coastal Cleanup

Coastal Cleanup crew has come up with an innovative new way to get us out to clean up our oceans! To advocate social distancing, the clean up day is now cleanup month. Join us on 9/26/20 at Bayfront Park or anytime with your family or social bubble between September 10-30th! This year all of us have had to adapt and live with the "new normal". Some of the best ways to cope with crisis we have little control over is to get exercise and be helpful to others and in our community. Last year, our members came out weeks away from their due date, rocking a baby in the carrier, and brought along little ones to learn valuable lessons and get plenty of exercise for the best nap day. Everyone had a great time!

To join us, here's what you do:

1. Download the App Cleanswell

Apple Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clean-swell/id985692119)

Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.oceanconservancy.cleanswell&hl=en_US)

2. Register and your Group Name is: Millbrae Monkfish

3. When you are ready to do your trash pick up, go to the shore, a recreation area, water ways, or your own neighborhood and record the items you pick up through the app. This helps us understand what eventually ends up in our oceans. You may be seeing a lot of masks and gloves this year. If you need pickup sticks, gloves, or buckets, email helpinghands@burlingameparentsclub.org to arrange pickup. We do encourage you to use your own reusable buckets and gloves

6. WEEKLY VOLUNTEER CONTEST ALERT: Post an image of your household, social bubble, or trash collected on Facebook or Twitter and tag @smchealth @burlingameparentsclub to be entered to win a prize. One winner will be selected and contacted through social media messaging to claim their prize weekly on Tuesday, September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

For Members, we will also be giving out individual goodie bags on 9/26 at Bayfront Park!  Please let us know which day you plan on attending by registering here as well as on Clean Swell.  You must be logged into your BPC account.
